Recommendations for beach reads?

Standard

Yesssssssss….we’ll be headed to the beach in about 25 days, and I’m looking for a few books to take with me.

I know I’m taking The Color Purple, which you may be surprised to know that I haven’t read after my post earlier this week. I found it at Goodwill and thought, “What the heck?” I also may take a pregnancy book (yes, I’m finally knocked up).

Have you read anything lately that you just couldn’t put down? Please share!

  1. Try “One for the Money” by Janet Evanovich. It’s a comedic/thriller/mystery and is the first of 16 total Stephanie Plum books. They actually are casting to make some of the books into movies. Laugh out loud funny too 🙂

  2. I’m always intrigued when I see those books in your car but always forget about them when it comes time to find a new book. Thanks for the reminder!

  3. We got back from the beach last night and I’m dealing with a minor depression. 😉 I read Walt Whitman’s memoranda on the Civil War as well as a collection of artsy-fartsy short stories by Mary Gaitskill called ‘Bad Behavior’. Last year someone gave me this book called ‘The Beach House’. I scoffed at it BUT it was a quick, light-hearted read and actually a little enjoyable. Have fun!!!
